Want an art history lesson without a big time commitment? Each Art Jolt is an art history course in just two hours.
Calling themselves the Beat Generation, a group of American writers and artists emerged in the 1950s as a collective voice championing liberation from a restrictive society. Both free-spirits and disciplined artists like Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg and Joan Baez challenged the limits of consciousness and belief through writing, poetry and music. Take this two-hour art history class, taught by John Gosney of IUPUI, which explores the generation whose poetry, art and film changed the course of American history. Certification Renewal Credit Eligible
Also, be sure to stop by the exhibition, On the Road Again with Jack Kerouac and Robert Frank.
