Expansion
In 2006, we completed a building expansion at the IMA with the primary goal of improving your visitor experience. The Efroymson Entrance Pavilion welcomes you to the Indianapolis Museum of Art and its collections, exhibitions and programs. The Wood Gallery Pavilion adds approximately 50% more gallery space for the collections and offers improved services, including two new restaurants, an expanded museum shop and new spaces for educational programs. The Deer-Zink Events Pavilion is a venue for special events and public programs.
The IMA Indianapolis Art Museum building expansion is phase two of a $220-million expansion, aimed at producing three distinct art experiences for visitors. The first phase of the expansion was completed when the renovated IMA Oldfields-Lilly House & Gardens opened in 2002. The third phase is the Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park. Full realization of the Park and its offerings is expected to occur over a decade.
